Adult seborrheic dermatitis is a chronic condition affects the areas of the skin that have many sebaceous glands. Although the exact cause is unknown, hormonal imbalances leading to an over production of oil by the sebaceous glands and the presence of a yeast called malessizia is thought to be contributing factors. Chinese herbal decoctions calm down sebaceous glands, and treat any underlying hormonal and digestive inbalances. Herbal washes and creams treat the surface of the skin.
