Naturopathy

Naturopathy is a holistic approach to promoting and maintaining good health. Rather than focussing on individual symtoms, a Naturopath treats the person as a whole, supporting the body to heal itself. During a consultation, a Naturopath focuses on some of the following:

  • Nutrition & healthy-eating - the aim is to boost the body with good nutrition, healthy natural real foods. Did you know that blueberries are one of the best foods we can eat? They have the highest antioxidant score of any food, good for our body inside and out. Throw them on your porridge in the morning for a healthy dose before you leave the house.
  • Vitamin & Mineral supplementation - most of us are deficient in one or more vitamins or minerals. Our hectic lives and stressed adrenal systems are usually a cause. Some supplementation with good quality well-absorbed vitamins can give us that sense of wellbeing and provide a welcome boost to our flagging energy reserves. Do you know why Omega 3 found in fish is called an Essential Fatty Acid? Essential, as it cannot be made by the body, and must be obtained from food, or supplements. Are you getting enough? Deficiency can cause dry skin, amongst many other things.
  • Lifestyle Advice - have you ever just stopped, sat in a quiet room, and listened to the sound of your breath for 5 to 10 mins? Try this every day from today, and see does it have any effect on how stressed you are feeling.
  • Acupuncture - if necessary

What can Naturopathy help you with?

  • stress reduction, anxiety
  • low energy and fatigue
  • insomnia
  • period problems, hormonal imbalance, painful discorders such as endometriosis
  • lack of concentration, 'muzzy' head
  • weight control, digestive problems
  • skin problems
