Your skin plays an important role in keeping you healthy. Frequently called the third lung , it also helps to regulate your body temperature and acts as a barrier against germs and injury.

The Chinese have been successfully treating skin disease for almost two centuries.

Chinese dermatology is a well documented branch of traditional Chinese medicine using dried Chinese herbal formulae, skin creams and washes which are also made from herbs .

One of the main reasons for its success is that the herbal formulae are adapted to treat the changes that occur in your skin during treatment .  Depending on your skin condition, there can be either an increased or reduced rate of skin turnover, it is therefore important to be able to adjust aspects of your herbal treatment when required.

Because you are unique, no two formulae or treatment approaches are the same - each one is made up to treat your  skin condition as it is at that time. The ability to treat skin conditions as they change and evolve means that many different skin conditions can be  treated in Chinese dermatology.

I am a qualified Chinese herbalist and have been dispensing herbs and creams from my clinic  since 1999, I started the specialist skin clinic in 2007.
